2019/2020 Protests

These first photos are of the global climate justice demonstration that happened all around the world this fall.

I have been attending demonstrations and protests like this for a long time, and I am sad to say that I do not think any government we ever elect will believe in Justice enough to strive for it in any way at all.

In government, respect is lacking.

Art City is a community organization that my kids attend and love, they created this float for the parade.

My boys!

Sammy shot this one of me.

These next few are of the round dance in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en land defenders.
Twice now this Liberal federal government has condoned the invasion and theft of these people’s land.  I do not send my kids to school, and don’t mind to say, that I have no reason to trust that the government will educate my kids honestly, this is why.

Doom.

Thanks for looking!

Winnipeg zoo - Fall 2019

I don’t attend the zoo all that often, but I do let curiosity get the best of me from time to time.

The Crew.

The infectious disease buffet.

Cuteness factor? High.

The indoor cages are especially underwhelming.  As I try to think of captions or ways to express my feelings about the photos, or the place at all, I’m left speechless.  The zoo does seem indefensible.

The cougar.

The seals give a beautiful show as they streak across the aquarium window.  These are shot on my Nikon FM3a with a vivitar 19mm 3.5.  I like this lens a lot, wide, rectilinear, imperfect.

Birds in cages, you can’t help but feel a kind of way.
