July 2024 - Some film, Old and New, The Brokenhead, The City and The big lake

 

I finished up a roll of half framers the other day and to no one's surprise, the photos at the start of the roll were of my kinds when they were tiny!  I was stoked to see the photos of the Pinawa dam in there, and I'm looking forward to getting out there some time soon. 

The 'ol No Name Auto Mart

I remember the swallows darting all around these concrete structures and through the big culverts, ever since getting this digital camera i've been thinking of getting out there to photograph them. 

Shortly after shooting this photo,  Sammy slipped into the water right up to their shoulders, I was sure glad they didn't get swept away.  Coulda been gnarly.

I recon this was Black Lake in Nopiming Provincial Park

This was a cool winter, Duncan arena slidebox era.

I don't know who shot these ones around the house, but I like them plenty.

Bowling, so photogenic... 

I'm sorry to have missed focus on this, but I like it plenty anyhow, I'm trying to get a little deeper into the trees for these bird shots.

Turtle Rock!  Some years ago, when I started visiting the Brokenhead again, There was a big 'ol Snapper that would be sitting on this rock every time.  Once I paddled a little kayak up to the rock and looked down into the water and the 'ol feller was just sitting there on the bottom of the river staring me down.

I've been checking out Super macro stuff, I look forward to diggin into it a bit more.  Not gonna lie, I scratched the back element of my 20mm instantly... brutal...

I started Tattooing at Corner Tattoo on Portage avenue, and the owners of the building were the folks who ran The Sound Exchange (the corner space of that same building).  I have been keeping my eye on it since it closed and was excited to see it get a new coat of paint and to learn that there will be a new record shop opening in the space.

'nuff respect to Butterfly Photographers, not as easy as I thought it would be. 

I was really hyped to get this photo from underneath of this Dragonfly.  I'm so stoked on my Tamaron Reflex 500mm lens that focuses way down to two meters.  It's really hard to hit focus, but when you do it's pretty tacky.
