Hi, welcome to my blog, if this is your first time checking out my work, my name is Bram Adey, and I'm a tattooer working in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I've been tattooing for sixteen years, and work in a traditionally inspired fineline black and grey style. I make black and white tattoos of all descriptions, but mainly show my nature-themed work.
Here are some of my favourite tattoos from the last few weeks:
Lady's Slipper - Floral Tattoo - Upper Arm
Robin in flight - Upper-arm Tattoo
Bison Skull Tattoo - Inner-bicep
Lillies - Floral Tattoo - Upper arms
This pair of Lilly tattoos are a loosely symmetrical pair on the same person, I love this treatment!
Rice Plant Tattoo - Leg
Fineline Rice Tattoo Detail
Goldfinch Bird Tattoo - Upper-arm
Saskatoon Berry Tattoo - Forearm
Goldfinch Perched on Serviceberry - Large Scale Arm tattoo
Pelican Tattoo - Shoulder
Thanks for checking out the tattoos, email me any time at bram_adey@hotmail.com for Winnipeg tattoo bookings and inquiries.
Next I have some photos of my personal tattoo flash project with the working title of "Our Natural World". This project is a large collection of designs highlighting the species of plants, animals and fungi found in the great plains, interlake and boreal forests of this land I live on.
Red Fox Tattoo Flash Design - Shoulder, Stomach, or Chest
Loon Tattoo Flash Design - Chest, Back, Sternum
Painted Turtle Tattoo Flash Design - Arms or Legs
Damselfly on Blue Flag Tattoo Flash Design - Arms or Legs
Osprey Tattoo Flash Design - Chest
Red Tailed Hawk Head Tattoo Flash Design - Shoulder, Arm
Morel Mushroom Tattoo Flash Design - Arms, Lower Legs
As I was working on these Morel Mushroom Designs I was inspired to cook up these Morels that a good homie hooked up last year, connecting the tattoos we make with healthy lives on the land is definitely what this project is all about.
Silverberry or Wolf Willow is one of the plants that lots of people have been pointing out to me as ones that are special to them and their lives, and no sooner that i researched it a bit and endeavored to draw it, did I find myself noticing very similar berries out on garbage hill. The ones I found were on a Russian Olive, a relative species to the wolf willow.
Cottontail Rabbit Tattoo Flash Design - Arms, Lower legs
Chicken of the Woods Tattoo Flash Design - Arms, Legs
This is another well-loved mushroom species that lots of folks asked for designs of.
These are my first-stop when planning a weekend out and around the province.
Starting a Fritillary Butterfly design.
Thanks so much for checking out my manitoba tattoo flash project. If you'd like to let me know of your favourite/most special species/places/etc... to be included in the project, email me at bram_adey@hotmail.com
I's just about done this Sandwich board for Ritual, a humbling one for sure.
Ritual Winnipeg is my tattoo studio in Winnipeg's Exchange District, there are five us us there, all working in different styles, check out our website if you're looking for a new artist or are interested in knowing more about the tattoo studio.
My wife hooked up these perfect felt liners for around-the-house slippers. They're exactly what I wanted, just a bit better than I imagined!
A lovely Season
Truly.
A season for playing games.
I finally got my kids into cribbage.
I've also been working on a new zine about my experience travelling through the Amazon rain-forest by cargo boat with this homie. Winter is also a good season for contemplation.
All the best,
Bram
