Hi, welcome to the blog, my name is Bram Adey, and I've been tattooing in Winnipeg for sixteen years.  I make traditionally inspired black and grey tattoos.  My work is often nature inspired, and specifically focused on the main species of flora and fauna of the area of Manitoba between the turtle mountains and the Winnipeg river.

In Addition to Our Wild World, I've also been actively working on my collection of iconographic stick and poke designs "Signs and Symbols", and I'm currently working on some celestially inspored additions to the collection.

You can find me at my studio, Ritual Winnipeg, from Tuesday to Friday, 10am-6pm.  I share the space with four other artists:

On the First Friday of every month, you can stop by the studio from 5-9 for an open-studio and walk-in tattooing.  You can meet the artists and peruse our portfolios, as well as getting to see the space and suss out the vibe.

The Better part of the work I do is smalleer-scale one-shot tattoos that take around an hour or so, this snake and chrysanthemum tattoo is a bigger custom piece that took two, two hour sessions or so.

In addition to traditional machine-made tattoos, i also work by hand relatively regularly, this sun and moon combo were made in the stick-and-poke style, a couple years apart.

Around the World and Across the Ages

Signs and Symbols is a collection of amuletic tattoo designs I've collected across the last ten years or so from a huge variety of sources from ancient mesopotamia to 20th century North america.
